Races in Rise of Eros

RaceHuman
Capital/CityCelia
GovernmentThe Imperial royal family rules over the Human empire from their capital city of Celia. Princess Rouffe serves as the de facto head of state while her mother lies bedridden from an undisclosed illness, and with her father having passed on years prior.
History & CultureWith a long legacy of creativity and innovation, the Humans rely upon their broad knowledge and advanced technology to adapt to the myriad challenges of the world around them. Safe within their walled cities, they pursue a diverse range of academic and cultural endeavours, and strive to maintain amicable relations with the other races of Dienne under the capable leadership of Princess Rouffe.

Wardog

RacePixies
Capital/CitySukkuba
GovernmentUnknown
History & CultureWith a genetic anomaly that leaves them virtually unable to produce male offspring, the 99% female Pixie population has evolved a unique survival strategy of mating with males from other races, giving rise to a culture of sexual openness and polyamory. Living on the war-torn borderlands between the Human and Yoh territories, however, their position and lack of organised defences leaves them vulnerable to exploitation at the hands of both their neighbour races. Pixie women frequently find themselves targeted by Human slave traffickers or Yoh bridenappers; left to their devices, however, they tend to prefer Human mates due to the latter’s cultural dominance and lesser inclination for excessive aggression and violence.

RaceYoh
Capital/CityBrassavola
GovernmentA loose network of underworld mob organisations, with the Fukatsuki clan at its apex. Go Fukatsuki serves as the current clan patriarch, but has named his daughter Misaki as his successor once she finishes her adventures with her “boyfriend” Eros and returns home to claim her title.
History & CultureA proud and hardy race of warriors, the Yoh rely on their sheer martial prowess to survive in the dangerous monster-infested hinterlands of Celia, and consequently value physical training over the scholarly pursuits favoured by their “softer” Human neighbours. A low fertility rate among Yoh-Yoh pairings leads them to abduct brides from the other races, as much for reproduction as well as a ritual display of dominance. While Humans remain well protected behind their city armaments, the Pixie women of Sukkuba present easy targets, giving rise to the cultural tradition of Pixie “bridenapping”.

Vagrant Beyonder

RaceVesprine
Capital/CityRinglos
GovernmentThe seven-member Elder Council rules over the citizens of Ringlos, although the recent death of Chief Elder Katherine has plunged its future into uncertainty.
History & CultureA race naturally possessed of an innate magic known as spirit power, the Vesprine lifted their citadel up into the skies above Celia as war broke out between the Humans and Yoh below, ushering in a golden age of prosperity while their erstwhile neighbours tore each other apart. In the ensuing decades, however, they have since lapsed into complacency and stagnation even as the surface races recovered and re-established relations with each other. Clinging to the imagined superiority of their spirit power over Human ingenuity or Yoh might, they view outsiders with a mix of condescension and distrust, complicating attempts at diplomacy, trade, or cultural exchange. Rumours exist, however, of a certain black market where discerning customers might meet to negotiate such transactions in secret…
