Super Special Rare

 Offensive Persona

Overview

On paper, Butterfly Dream fulfils the role of a crowd control DPS Persona, with purely offensive moves combined with a massive Attack stat.

In practice, she’s a liability that needs a ton of investment in order to reach her full potential.

She is a terrible unit in the early game due to her stats and scaling, which is the very reason she is a powerhouse in the mid-late game.

Butterfly Dream is a purely offensive Persona that specialises in Crowd Control. The only attack that doesn’t attack all enemies is her basic attack. Otherwise, she’s either busy atomising the enemy team or being a literal deadweight on the ground.

She will really only start to bloom at level 30+ due to the Level Mod & HP scaling screwing her harder than Eros. Good luck getting there.

With the proper setup & investment, she can & will outdps Timekeeper.

Skills

Butterfly Dream’s Basic & Special Attack scale with ATK as expected, but her Ultimate scales with her max HP. This is the main reason why she is so weak at the start – ATK growth is fairly linear, but HP is exponential. In addition, none of her attacks give any sort of buff or debuff.

More than any Persona currently available, Butterfly’s viability and competitiveness is entirely dependent on the gacha. She really starts to come into her own at 3 stars, although more is always better.

The skills below are based on the 0★ form and at Level 1:

Basic Attack
The target takes damage equal to 110 + 100% of ATK.

Her basic attack is as basic as can be. Does damage and ends the turn.

Special – Cowgirl [Cooldown 2 turns.]

All enemies take damage equal to 70% of ATK.

Butterfly Dream’s Special Attack is called ‘Cowgirl’. I will not comment any further on the name. The skill itself hits all enemies for 70% of ATK. This immediately improves her viability at the midgame due to her extremely high ATK, and at Rank 3 has a cooldown of only 1 turn.

Ultimate – Scarlet Sarabande [Cooldown 4 turns.]

All enemies take damage equal to 20% Butterfly Dream’s Max HP.

Her Ultimate is where things get interesting. The damage is calculated purely with HP, meaning that you can completely disregard ATK gear and spec entirely for HP. It hits all enemies for 20% of max HP.

Yes, you read that right. It’s pretty crap at the start. This number rises to a max of 50% HP, which is a lot more reasonable, but require her to be at the max rank, which means you need to get her at least 5 times in the gacha.

Matchups

Overall a bad choice for your party for the early game, to the point of being unplayable if you’re F2P. She really starts to shine once you reach the late game, when her scaling, gear and stat really complement her skills. She then turns into the best dps in the game by a mile.

Yes, this is against really weak enemies, but that’s a lot of damage.

Once she gets going, you’re not going to want to take her out of your team. Obliterating the enemy team with her is very fun & cathartic.

Lack of party support skills reduce her overall utility, but the best defence is a good offence. You might want to bench her when up against bosses.

I cannot stress this enough – If she’s your only SSR, reroll. The early game is difficult enough without needing to carry her useless (but nice) ass as well.

How to build

Early game – Stack ATK, or better yet, bench her.

Mid-late game – HP, HP and more HP. Even at 20% scaling on her Ultimate, with 10K HP she can bitchslap all enemies on the opposing team for 2K damage each. Give her ATK as a secondary if you want.

Exclusive Relic

Her personal Relic increases scaling on her ultimate by 10%. It’s great, if you can get it.
