Overview
Blood Moon (Misaki) is a Limited SSR Persona available in Limited-Time Goddess Summon during The Jokers’ Banquet Event, which she is not available for summon after the event ends.
Probably should have been called Twin Moons.
Blood Moon’s kit revolves around Taunting the enemy, which she can easily do just by turning around. She is mainly competing with Chaste Justice, the only other dedicated tank in the game, for a spot on your team.
Going by her kit alone, Blood Moon is objectively a better Tank than Chaste Justice due to being able to have 100% uptime on Taunt. In addition, she also has extremely high base DEF, naturally complimenting her role while completely disregarding her lack of armour in certain aspects.
However, like with her clothes, the dev seems to have overlooked something – All of her attacks scale with ATK, and the scaling on them are pretty bad, to the point where White Rose could potentially outdps her with her basic attack alone.
Her low DPS doesn’t really matter since she’s a Tank, except that Chaste Justice actually has good scaling with S2, giving her decent DPS while being a Tank.
The biggest issue with her kit, however, is that her survivability is dependent on landing the ATK down debuff. Blood Moon has no innate survivability – If the debuff fails to connect, she has no means of damage reduction. The nature of her kit also means she is inherently much less durable than Chaste Justice, since CJ can heal herself while reducing enemy dps to a negligible amount.
Skills
The skills below are based on the 0★ form and at Level 1:
Basic Attack
The target takes damage equal to 80 + 100% of ATK, 5% chance of inflicting [Taunt] for 3 turns.
[Taunt]: You must attack the enemy that Taunted you on your next turn.
The Basic Attack has a 5% chance to Taunt the enemy. Generally, you really don’t want to proc the Taunt on this, it’ll probably get her killed if the ATK DOWN debuff is not active.
Special – Tsukkage [Cooldown 2 turns.]
Deal damage equal to 110 + 150% of ATK, inflict [Taunt] and [Weak] for 3 turns.
[Taunt]: You must attack the enemy that Taunted you on your next turn.
[Weak]: Lower ATK by 25%.
Her Special Attack taunts and weakens an enemy, causing them to deal 25% less damage. At Blood Moon Rank 3, this has a 1-turn cooldown that can potentially give her 100% uptime.
Ultimate – Dark Jade [Cooldown 4 turns.]
Inflict [Taunt] on all enemies and deal damage equal to 150 + 65% of ATK, inflict [Feeble] for 3 turns.
[Taunt]: You must attack the enemy that Taunted you on your next turn.
[Feeble]: Lower ATK by 50%.
Her Ultimate attack Taunts the entire team and debuffs them with Lower ATK by 50% for 3 turns. Getting the cooldown reduction will mean 75% uptime, making her a straight upgrade to Shadowswift, but with a massive catch.
[Feeble] is a debuff, meaning that there is a possibility that it can miss. Chaste Justice & Shadowswift give buffs that have a 100% success rate. In CJ’s case, it means you don’t really need to worry about her taking on more than she can handle.
Matchups
Personally, I feel that she is a downgrade to Chaste Justice. She has lower DPS & survivability, but offers nearly 100% uptime on Taunt & improved survivability for the rest of the team. However, the fact that the damage mitigation can miss & requires significant investment to minimise the risk makes her less desirable, which probably explains the dress code.
I cannot stress this enough – Blood Moon is no more durable than the rest of the team, and you will need a dedicated Healer on her to keep her alive, unlike with CJ.
She might as well be a mirrored version of Dark Countess, except with the ability to Taunt.
How to build
E.HIT is the only way to go – she needs her debuffs to land, or her turn is wasted. Give her every bit of E.HIT you have, but understand that even with all that E.HIT, it may not be enough.
For secondary stats, give her AVD & ATK. Don’t bother increasing her DEF.
Exclusive Relic
Her SSR Relic gives her 25% DEF up on her ultimate for 1 turn. It will massively improve her survivability, addressing the biggest issue with her kit, although only for 1 turn.
